Awakenings has announced its 20th anniversary plans, celebrating with a four-day event series in April 2017.
Five parties are planned from April 13th through 16th, with four nighttime sessions and one daytime event taking place at the Dutch festival's main Amsterdam home, Gashouder. The day session, on Saturday the 15th, will be the first time Awakenings has used the space in daylight hours. Running from 11 AM through 10 PM, it'll feature techno acts Joris Voorn, Ben Klock, Adam Beyer, Jeff Mills and Chris Liebing.
The nighttime programme is similarly weighty. Derrick May will go back-to-back with Kevin Saunderson on Thursday the 13th, followed by sets from Sven Väth and Nina Kraviz. Friday the 14th, billed as Awakenings' 200th event, will feature back-to-backs from Beyer and Joseph Capriati, and Klock and Marcel Dettmann. Liebing and Mills return the following night, alongside Dave Clarke and DJ Rush, before the series wraps up on Sunday the 16th with performances from Luciano, Seth Troxler, Len Faki and Ricardo Villalobos.
