The company has unveiled a raft of new products and updates, including initial details for the upcoming Traktor Pro 3 software.
Native Instruments has revealed its most expansive announcement ever for products and online updates.
Included in the announcement is an update to the Traktor Kontrol S4 DJ controller. The new S4 aims to bring a more tactile approach to digital DJing, thanks to its Haptic Drive system, which utilizes motorized spinning wheels that recall the experience of playing vinyl turntables. Those wheels can be used in Turntable Mode, for vinyl-style beatmatching, and Beatgrid Adjust Mode, where you can feel simulated bumps when accessing cue points and loops, along with the usual "spin-to-nudge" Jog Mode. Other features on the controller include two high-resolution color displays, stereo inputs for all four channels, new mixer effects and more durable faders.
NI has also announced the release date for its Traktor Pro 3 DJ software: October 18th. We're promised a revamped interface, a "new one-touch Mixer FX" and better sound, though further details are still TBA.
The company's other moves include a new line of budget keyboard controllers called the Komplete Kontrol A-Series and redesigns for the Kontrol S2 two-channel DJ controller, the Komplete Kontrol S88 keyboard controller and the Maschine Mikro.
"This announcement marks a new chapter in NI history," said NI CEO Daniel Haver. "For music-makers of all styles and abilities, there's now an ideal entry point to the NI ecosystem—from inspirational starter kits that guide first experiences to pro-grade products that enable our users to push the boundaries of music production and performance."
